Pantone 2016 Colour(s) of the Year

So, those lovely folks at Pantone have released their colour of the year for 2016 – only this time we’ve got two colours to play with – Rose Quartz, and Serenity. I have to confess that normally I’m a bright colours and jewel tones kinda girl, but there’s something about these two whispery shades that is really rather evocative and romantic.

I was trying to put my finger on what they reminded me of, and then looked out of my window early yesterday morning to be met with this view.

It’s pretty close isn’t it? We reckon these colours are going to be popping up all over the place next year, and here are a couple of different ways you could look at incorporating these shades of early morning sunrise into your big day.

All Out Romance

Whether you’re more drawn to the pink or the blue, both of these shades are pale enough to form part of a traditional yet fresh bridal look. We love these statement gowns with a hint of blush or powder blue in them. And tonnes of tulle? Yes please!

Ice-Cream Vintage

Step away from the storybook romance look for a minute though, and there’s a rather fabulous 60s vintage vibe about these colours. We’re thinking fun favours, shiny pastels, tea length dresses and bucket loads of winged eyeliner.

So what do you reckon? Are you fans of the 2016 colour(s) of the year? Do leave us a comment and let us know – we love a good chat!

Love,

Jen xx
